What is the difference between a remix and a vip

Some mashups are called bootlegs. This is one example of a bootleg made by Bima G. Remix is new mix of a song, when stems official samples of different recording tracks like the melody, bass, drums, etc.

And of course with permission granted by the original artist. Usually means that the original producer wrote the original song in a different way, like an artist remixing their own song.

The earlier version of it is here. Flip means to take a sample and make a beat or song using that sample in a creative way. In other words, a flip is a new track made out from a sampled material of another track. There might be another term used by different producers out there, but these are the most common I found on the internet. And now you all know what each of the term means, share and spread the knowledge!

See ya. The remixer gets the stems audio bounce of each track and sometimes the MIDI files. A bootleg is an unofficial remix made without permission of the original artist. Unfortunately some bootlegs receive copyright strikes and get taken down. This type of remix is usually made by the original artist to be played in a DJ set. They can include new chords, riffs, drum patterns or vocals.

Re-edits are common in DJ sets and are pre-prepared rearrangements of tracks. Mashups use parts of two different songs to create a new mix. It could be an acapella of one song on top of the instrumental of another. Early pop remixes typically stayed true to the original song, just with a longer arrangement and extra instrumentation to make them work as extended mixes for club play.

As technology evolved, leading to the dance music explosion and Summer of Love in , remixes increased in complexity, becoming a staple for a significant number of dance music singles.

In the 90s, the rise in affordable samplers and computer-based recording also gave birth to the mash-up, where a remixer would find an instrumental and mix it with a vocal in the same key to create a not-so-subtle hybrid of two tracks. Fast forward to , and remixing is an ingrained part of music culture, with remixes readily categorisable into six types…. These are typically unofficial - ie, made without permission from the original artist.
