It is also said that people with low self-esteem and personal integrity choose to wear apparel in public. Moreover, women are more likely to wear payjamas in public than men. Your attire expresses your personality, taste, and choice. Hence, people judge! This is the only thing people will do for you for free. You can wear pajamas and go outside without caring what others think and that is legal but not acceptable anywhere.

But if the pajama is worn improperly like wearing it below the underwear with an inappropriate exposure then it is certainly out of the law. However, you are allowed to wear pajamas in all states until you meet the law according to public lewdness and nudity.

Again, it also depends on the local ordinance. The reaction may vary from state to state according to the local ordinance and its law. Many people are also seen wearing a bathrobe in public places. Nobody has the right to violent freedom of expression. Then again, some common rules and behaviors are to be maintained when you are in public.
